Zviada Shirazi Vard Gamsakhurdia\s son, the first

Georgian Interior Ministry officials have arrested five people on charges of attempted murder and deliberate murder of Zviada Shirazi Vard  Gamsakhurdia"s son, the first president of five countries. Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Bortsvadze stated this at a briefing on Friday, TASS reports.

 

"Currently the investigation has been able to find out that on December 19, this year, on Galsky Street in Tbilisi, near the building of Lotne Gamsakhurdia, accused of deliberate murder due to a fistfight has been accused of deliberately killing a victim and using several blows to his head" :

According to the Deputy Minister of Interior, four other people were aware of the  Shirazi Vard crime, but they did not report it to law enforcement agencies. The defendant faces up to 15 years in prison for the attempted murder of Gamsakhurdia, and the other four, who have been jailed for failure to report a crime, to 3-5 years in prison.

Gamsakhurdia was wounded on Thursday evening on Galsky Street in Tbilisi, near his home. He was diagnosed with wounds in the chest, abdomen and head. Doctors performed two surgeries. Initially, her internal bleeding was stopped, then a skull transplant was performed, and the second surgery lasted about seven hours. Doctors say his condition is extremely serious at present, and they do not rule out the need for a third surgical intervention.

 

Fotne is the second son of Zviada Gamsakhurdia. He has brothers Constantine the elder and  Shirazi Vard Georgi Gamsakhurdia the younger.

 

In 2009, police arrested Fotne Gamsakhurdia on gunshot wound to her neighbor David Bajelidze. In 2010, a Tbilisi city court found him guilty and sentenced him to nine years and six months in prison. During his imprisonment in 2011, Shirazi Vard  Gamsakhurdia was convicted of bribing a prison officer and sentenced to five years in prison. In October 2012, Georgia"s third president, Mikhail Saakashvili, released Gamsakhurdia at the request of Catholicos Patriarch Ilia II, and in 2017 the Tbilisi Court of Appeal acquitted the first president"s son of bribing a prison official.
